New Year's Tiny Bubbles
Happy New Year Everyone! Tiny Bubbles are small thought blips and writings that waft through my mind and gather together in my "Chronicles" Dishpan. They are named so with a nod toward my ukelele playing husband. Since, there is a sink full of dishes waitng for my attention, there will be suds and "Tiny Bubbles".

THE PENTAGON SPYS ON QUAKERS
...The Pentagon has ordered Bush secret agents to spy on Quaker anti-war groups. Hmmmmm.....I find it kind of ironic. The Quakers are the only Christians who actually Practice the Peace that all Christians Preach. George W. Bush and Dick Cheney threatened by peaceful Christians?!?!!!!!!!?

BABY NOOR
...I am very happy that some concerned American troops have seen that Baby Noor, a wee Iraqi baby girl afflicted with spinal bifida, will get much needed medical attention here in the States. The warm, feel-good story has been endlessly repeated on American televison news programs. I found myself wondering about the part of the story that has been left out. What about the others? The thousands of Iraqi children who have been brutally maimed in this cruel, unnecessary war?
There are amputees, burn victims, children with traumatic brain injury, kids who can no longer see or hear and those who are suffering the effects of radiation exposure from weaponized depleted uranium. The "Poisonous DUst" of depleted uranium used on Iraqi civilians by the Pentagon, is also causing serious birth defects in the offspring of American Soldiers who have also been exposed to DU.
Iraqi children are hungry, forced by the war to live in unsanitary conditions, and the majority do not have access to mecical care. Imagine how many are in need of pain medication and antibiotics.
That is why the story of Baby Noor seems more like a smokescreen of propaganda that borders on hypocracy rather than a reflection of an American culture that gives a damn. Hey CNN, why did you leave all of the other Iraqi kids out of your story? You missed a perfect opportunity to draw attention to their suffering. How shamefully "FOX News" of you!

LET'S TRY IN 2006
......to televise New Year's Eve entertainment that doesn't include teeny bopper girls in dresses up to their crotches who sing badly off key while attempting to be sexy. Watching scantly-clad, skinny behinds wiggling at the camera is boring. For some strange reason, these womanhood flunk-outs, seem to think that their newly discovered vaginas are somehow special. Listen you skaggy dears, women have had vaginas since human time began, have managed to enjoy said vaginas and bear children with a hell of a lot more character and dignity than you talentless, slutty baby girls can ever hope to achieve.
Let's also exclude all male performers whose pants hang off of their bottoms. They remind mothers everywhere of little boys who are carrying a load in their drawers after a toilet training mishap. Such an infantile appearance is NOT very masculine and they don't need to grab their crotches, either. Hey, are ya lookin' for something? Didja loose it? We all know that you've probably got one in there somewhere, so what's the big deal? It's nothing new....a lot of other guys have 'em, too. Now sing, or play the piano or somethin'.
So, let's plan ahead for New Year's Eve 2006. Perhaps the network halfwits can find some entertainers who can actually sing, harmonize, and gee, maybe even play an instrument...you know, like musicians do.

...My heart goes out to the people in Oklahoma city who after enduring days of raging grass fires lost their homes on the first day of the New Year. Things will be hard for a long time before they get better. We know what fire is like in my still recovering neighborhood....Cedar Fire, Oct. 2003. I hope that the Bushies haven't pumped all of our tax dollars into American War Machine. Our money needs to used to help American people....Katrina, and now, Oklahoma, and the thousands of Americans who are without medical care, homes, jobs, and food.

I'm usually rather tolerant of teenage fads, but the pants "falling of their bums" style flummoxes me. I mean, do teenage girls like it? How is it sexy? The girls with their tight, trampy outfits may look like skanks, but at least one could argue it has sex appeal. (To males, anyway.)

As for the irony of the Quaker spying...irony is for people who can actually understand nuances, something these guys seem incapable of.
While I hope for an impeachment in '06, I think we'll have to wait until '07 and a change of power if the elections go to dems and independents before that will occur.

It is amazing and kinda scary that many Americans are so blindly willing to give up the liberty and rights guaranteed by the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Heck, they're even HELPING with the deconstruction of the Constitution!

Maybe the skanky little girls DO appeal sexually to some men of little taste, but couldn't they find some that can sing? The electronically enhanced vocal distortions that emit from the throats of such creatures can be likened to the call of the screech owl or perhaps, to the horrific, spine-chilling sound of acrylic fingernails scraping across a chalkboard!
We did finally find something to watch. There was a Dave Matthews concert on PBS (of all places). My daughter and I are fans..(it seems to be a chick thing). And later on, we found George Carlin on HBO. What a perscpective from which to view the New Year!

I'll settle for impeachment in '07 if need be, but the sooner the better. It is so important to remove "them" from power. Together, Bush and the cabal of neocons he keeps company with comprise the greatest threat that this country has ever faced. I am very worried about the "fallout" and "blowback" my children and grandchildren will face as a result direct of the destructive adgenda being advanced by this twisted group of people.
Don't misunderstand me...I hope that the current crop of politicians will do the right thing and begin impeachment proceedings this year...but we all know how entrenched the GOP majority is and their tendency to march lock-step with their leader.
I too worry about the future in this country with these guys at the helm. Each day they remain in power is another day that liberty is withering on the vine.
KEN...I didn't misunderstand you, I know that you are as concerned as I am, but I think you are right about the time ('07 - after the next election) that may be involved. I was writing my reply to you while being bombarded by several other conversations...sometimes, it gets busy around here. I am kind of encouraged by Republicans like Hagel and Spector. I hope that more will stand for liberty.
All we can do I think, it to keep speaking up and out by writing and talking to people. The Patriot Act and the spy thing are being thrown right in our faces like some sort of sick dare - just dare to fight for your liberty! I'm tired but we can't just let them roll over the Constitution and Bill of Rights.
