Nursery School Rules For Bushies

Yesterday, while I was at my Dishpan post doing my Dishpan duty, my mind wandered back about 52 years to the large kitchen in the house on Helen St. A little girl of three, I was sitting in front of a small back and white television set with a rabbit ears antenna on top. I was watching "Romper Room". Memories of the famous children's nursery school program provided the inspiration for today's post. Enjoy!

**********************************

Romper, Bomper, Stomper, Boo
Tell me, tell me, tell me, do.....
Magic Mirror, tell me right away,
Have my representatives been Good Citizens today?

I am looking through the magic mirror and I see Georgie, Dickie, Karl, Condi, Karen, Rummie, and Albert-o. You haven't been playing nicely, have you? What would the Do Bee do?

Let's recite the Do Bee poem together to help you remember how to behave in a Democracy..........

"I always do everything right.
I never do anything wrong.
I'm a Romper Room Do Bee;
A Do Bee all day long!"

"Do Be a 'Do Bee'. Don't Be 'Don't-Bee'."

DO BE A PATRIOT
DON'T BE NATIONALIST

"A patriot must be ready to defend his country against his government"- Edward Abbey -

"To criticize one's country is to do it a service...Criticism, in short, is more than a right; it is an act of patriotism - a higher form of patriotism, I believe, than the familiar rituals and national adulation." - J. William Fulbright, American Senator -

Nasty nationalists say things like..."My country, right or wrong", and "Love it or leave it." Tsk, tsk, shame on them, they are too lazy to do their homework! - KWW -

DO BE A TRUTH SEEKER
DON'T BE A LIE KEEPER

"Media manipulation in the U.S. today is more efficient than it was in Nazi Germany, because we have the pretense that we are getting all the information we want. That misconception prevents people from even looking for the truth."
- Mark Crispin Miller -

"During times of universal deceit, telling the truth is revolutionary." - George Orwell -

DO BE A LIBERTY PROTECTOR
DON'T BE A RIGHT-WING DEFECTOR

"This (the U. S. Constitution) is likely to be administered for a course of years and then end in despotism...when the people shall become so corrupted as to need despotic government, being incapable of any other." - Benjamin Franklin -

"Franklin's prophecy is playing out before our eyes, today, in Bush and Cheney's fascist America. - KWW -

DO BE A WHISTLE BLOWER
DON'T BE A SECRET STOWER

George W. Bush has committed treason by ordering the NSA to spy on American citizens. He and the members of this extremely secretive administration have lied, cheated, stolen, and murdered. It is the duty of every American patriot to SPY on these criminals and report their actions to the American people. The people have a right to know. The evidence can be used in impeachment proceedings against Bush and Cheney. American democracy is under direct threat from these neoconservative traitors. - KWW -

"The spirit of resistance to government is so valuable on certain occasions, that I wish it to be kept alive...The people are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty."
- Thomas Jefferson -

DO BE A THINKER
DON'T BE A KOOL-AID DRINKER

"Democracy is not about trust; it is about distrust. It is about accountability, exposure, open debate, critical challenge, and popular input and feedback from the citizenry. It is about responsible government. We have to get our fellow Americans to trust their leaders less and themselves more, trust their own questions and suspicions, and their own desire to know what is going on." - Micheal Parenti -

Now boys and girls it's time to pick up all of the toys and clean up your messes. No, you can't play war games any more, you have knocked down too many buildings and broken thousands of people.

Instead we'll all put on our thinking caps and get out our copies of "The Constitution". We will read it together, out loud. When we finish you may go to the reading corner. Today's "Books That Make Us Think" were written by George Orwell and Kurt Vonnegut.

DO BE AN AMERICAN ACTIVIST
DON'T BE A BUSH TREASONIST

.....Kitchen Window Woman.......
