FILIBUSTER FOR FREEDOM!

I Called Senator Dianne Feinstein's Office, Today.

You Should Call Your Senator, Too!

I called Senator Dianne Feinstein's office to let her know that we wanted a filibuster against the confirmation of Sam Alito as a Supreme Court Justice. We are a family of five voting adults who are all appalled at Bush's judicial nominee.

I watched parts of the confimation hearings as my schedule allowed. Remember back when Condi Rice and George W. Bush were all about "body language"? Evidently, they forgot to coach Mr. Alito who betrayed his true temperment when he threw a tiny tantrum in response to being questioned by Senator Feinstein.

I had been in the kitchen one day during the hearings, processing the dirty dishes from the "Dishpan" to the drainer, when I decided to take a break to peak at the confirmation hearings. I turned on C-Span and there for all the world to see was Sam Alito having a hissy fit!

He had just been asked a question by Senator Feinstein (I missed the question) and in response went into a tantrum of the type easily recognized by most mothers as common to elementary school children.

Sammy, the seven-year-old, huffed loudly and puffed, too! His eyes narrowed to tiny slits that emitted pure, concentrated anger as he directed his glare in an arch around the room. Sammy wanted to be sure that everyone knew that he was mad, really, really MAD to be questioned so by a woman! He huffed and puffed some more then picked up a glass of water and took a short, snippy sip. Sammy, the-seven-year-old having communicated to all his displeasure, ended this hostile little interlude by returning the glass of water to the table with a sharp, audible slam. It was cute gesture. My, my he knows how to punctuate.

Samuel Alito JR. should have been disqualified as a Supreme Court nominee because he is a member of The Federalist Society. Laws, to members of The Federalist Society, are to be used like the bars on a prison cell. They intend to impose extremist laws on American society. Civil Rights and Freedoms are to be replaced by a system of law that gives absolute CONTROL to one leader. It will be enforced by PUNISHMENT for those who resist.

The Federalists follow the teachings of German professors Carl Schmitt and Leo Strauss. Carl Schmitt, who became Hitlers legal advisor, was responsible for dismantling the German Constitution - a move that enabled Hitler to slip into position as the Fuhrer. Leo Strauss gained entry to this country through the efforts of his friend and mentor Carl Schmitt. Once here, Strauss, as a college professor, taught that the masses (we, the people) need to be controlled by a handful of "mental giants", say like, hmmmm..... himself. Newt Gingrich and Paul Wolfowitz are well-known Straussians.

Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas is both a Struassian and a Schmittlerian. Antonin Scalia and John Roberts are both members of the authoritarian "Federalist Society". Let's see, with Alito confirmed that will make four Supreme Court Justices who wish to end civil rights, social security, and hand George W. Bush a constitutional dictatorship.

Not only is the childish Samuel Alito Jr. emotionally immature, he is so far right of Justice Sandra Day O'Connor that he should be marching in Jack boots. His "body language" is all about power - not justice.......AmeriKa!

I'll call. I don't hold out a lot of hope from my senators. They're good on some things, but when push comes to shove, they seem to want to keep that moderate thing going. However, you never know. Hillary's been showing life this last week. First with the "plantation" talk and now with healthcare. Maybe she's starting to realize that you have to be on one side or the other these days.

Too bad I missed that hissy fit. Sounds like it was a riot. If Alito's confirmed, the neocons will have 4 justices they can always count on. Let's pray (or something similar) for the continued health of the remaining Supreme Court justices. Except for Thomas and Scalia of course.

I don't think that they will do a filibuster but I do think think they need to know how many of us are dissatisfied with Alito. He has an ADGENDA and intends to impose it on the citizens of this country.

Our senators and congressmen need to show some backbone. Most of them are doing a good job for themselves and don't give a damn about democracy or the American people.

TOM...
It only lasted a moment or two. He probably does it all the time and has gotten what he wanted as a result of his childish demonstrations.

When little kids act out in such a manner it is a way of threatening those who have authority over them. The child is thinking something like, "When I am big and strong I'm going to MAKE you do WHAT I WANT!"

Sam Alito's mother, wife, and probably some female staffers are most likely very familiar with Sammy, the-seven-year-old.

Hmmm... your "hissy-fit" description sounds more like the antics of Senator Kennedy than anyone else.

In the words of Jerry Zeifman, a Democrat and former chief counsel to the House Judiciary Committee, Senator Edward M. Kennedy, D-Mass., has disgraced himself and our party by misusing his position on the Senate Judiciary Committee to achieve self-serving partisan ends.

To tom harper... what a cold-hearted comment! "Except for Thomas and Scalia of course." I thought the Democrats were the kind, understanding party and we Republicans were the coldly-calculating, unfeeling ones. You are as hipocritical as Sen. Kennedy (who was a member of a much worse campus organization and was still paying dues to it!!)
