Impeach The Rat

I've been cleaning out the cupboards. When one cleans out the cabinets or the closets, as many of you know, one finds things that were never needed in the first place, seldom, if ever used, are broken, don't fit, or are dangerously out-dated.

It was while I was cleaning out the under-the-sink cupboard which had recently been infiltrated by rats, that I decided the White House and its cabinet needs a good, old fashioned, top to bottom scouring, too. The D.C. residential seat of our government has been infested by crazed rodents for five years too long.

This country never needed this "War President" who along with his neocon Cabinet, would lie to start their own war. Seldom, if ever does this president use his power to effect positive change for the poor, the working class, and the middle class, here at home in the US. The financial back of America has been broken by the cost of an unnecessary war and a continuing plague of no-bid, cost-plus corporate looting. Rats, we know, will devour every last scrap of food; even that which was put away for emergency.

The White House Neocon Rat Pack doesn't fit in THIS democracy. Their desire for a global Empire ruled by an aristocratic / intellectual elite is rooted in the past. Historically, dreams of such greed-fed power and glory have translated to naught but miserable failure thoughout the centuries. Monarchy has been rejected by Americans ever since this country's painful birth. Feudalism, based on slavery, legally ended with the Civil War. Fascism was defeated 60 years ago in Europe. Yet, it is a combination of these dangerous methods of governance that George W. Bush and his cronies have been imposing on the American people since his questionable election in 2000.

My cupboard cleaning arsenal included: a broom and dustpan, a trash bag, rags, a scrubby sponge, ammonia, disinfectant, and a can of Raid. I emptied, swept, and elbowed-greased it to shiny, then disinfected, and finished it off with a garnish of Raid, just in case. Finally, my husband nailed some heavy duty hardware cloth over a small hole near where the sink pipes come in. The entrance the rats had used to sneak into our house was effectively closed to future invaders.

That done, it is time to tackle the next big project: The White House, in particular, this profligate rat of a president and the reprobates who occupy his kitchen cabinet. Many Americans will need to arm themselves with brooms, dustpans, and rags as it will take a powerful lot of sweeping and scrubbing to rid the People's House of the vermin who have overrun our government's interior.

The restoration of our democracy requires that we use the most powerful cleanser available to citizens of the United States: IMPEACHMENT. Article II, section 4 lists the grounds for impeachment as:

"The President, Vice President, and all civil Officers of the United States shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors."

George W. Bush lied to the American People and led them into an illegal war against innocent people in another country. Thousands have suffered and died as a result. He and his chosen administration have conspired to systematically dismantle the rights of the American people while strengthing the political and financial powers of a privileged few. George W. Bush has betrayed the people's trust and mislead the citizens of the United States since his presidency began. It is time for him to go. We must prevent him from causing further harm both here and abroad.

Because I am an American Patriot, I have joined the "Impeach Bush Coalition" to add my efforts to this most important task. I will also be writing more about "the Bush Impeachment" in the future.

**For more information and a good read go to the "Impeach Bush Coalition" http://impeachbushcoalition.blogspot.com/

***Note - My family and I live in the middle of a recovering disaster area (the Cedar Fire of 2003). Bush did a "photo op" here, too. We and our neighbors (as a result of the fire) have been experiencing a "bloom" in the local small animal populations, hence the rats in our under-the-sink pet food supply. One night, we even had eight raccoons doing whatever it is raccoons do in our yard! On the positive side, the "rats" inspired the above perspective on the need for Bush's impeachment, and the raccoons made us laugh.

When you think of Old Mother Hubbard, her empty cupboard, and her poor little dog....think of our country's empty cupboard......and work to IMPEACH BUSH!

Wow! Another pointless liberal diatribe! So now on top of being a warmonger Bush is also a promoter of slavery and fascism? That is the most ludicrous thing I think I've ever read. Of course you threw in the typical "Bush stole the 2000 election","War President","corporate looting", blah blah blah. Its the same ol' same ol' with you liberals. You call yourself a patriot? Let me ask you, would you rather fight the terrorists here on American soil or over there on their turf? Was going to war with Iraq the best thing to do? Who am I to judge. The fact is we did liberate Iraq. Millions of Iraqi citizens are now free from a government of oppression and hate. Would you tree-hugging liberals prefer that these people remain living under oppression? Would you prefer that we just leave them to their own devices only to breed an even worse state of chaos and terror? We went in and we need to be sure that the Iraqis have some semblance of stability before we leave. That would be the decent thing to do. The fact is that you liberals have become so consumed with defeating Bush that you've lost the point of your own ideology. You all dodge issues and contradict yourselves on a daily basis. Liberals have nothing to contribute to this nation's "progress" aside from finger pointing and rhetoric. Frankly, its getting very, very old.

everyman(the moniker sounds a bit like Anne Rand meets socialism),

Isn't like a conservative to suggest that there are only two choices to every issue. You say that we either fight the terrorists in Iraq or here on US soil. What happened to fighting them in Afghanistan? Its clear that we never needed to be in Iraq. The US killed over 25,000 inocent civilians in revenge for the 3,000 Osama killed. And, instead of beating back the terrorists we have inflamed them, not only in Iraq, but throughout the Middle East. When do we get the "Wise Leadership" that the Republicans promised?

Other than the war there is also the issue of being fiscally conservative, which Bush is not. Instead of taxing and spending he is borrowing and spending just running up the credit card debt of the country. Who wins here? Obviously its the US treasery bond holders. As the US goes further into debt the bond rating will drop and the interest rates will go up. Who owns these bonds? The Wealthy, of course, who got nice tax breaks so they can buy more bonds. The tax payer will be paying the same taxes and getting less services over the next 30 years as the percentage of debt goes up.

We should all know what is wrong with the Bush agenda, but we need to know more about what is right about the Democrat's plan for progress.

"Everyman" apparently never heard of a place called London. Or Madrid.

Wingebot idiocy is annoying, but wingerbot idiocy IN THE FACE OF INCONTROVERTIBLE EVIDENCE of the stupidity of the Rove talking point is inexcusable.

"You call yourself a patriot? Let me ask you, would you rather fight the terrorists here on American soil or over there on their turf?"

Google the above cities. Since you don't appear to have any cognitive abilities, I'll help you.

In the search field, put the following terms exactly as you see them here:

"London" "terrorist"

"Madrid" "terrorist"

You call yourself a human being? Why aren't you over there, since the only way to protect your family from terrorists is to fight them in Iraq? Don't you love your family?

Please, spare us the talking points, especially the ones literally blown to pieces. You'll also be sparing yourself the shame that comes with being known as a moron.

I am going to ignore Everyman, because he doesn't represent every man, especially not my man.

I have read this three times, and what else can I say that you haven't already said ... just know I support your views on this issue 100%.

I love the concepts in which you used to bring your point upclose and in my face! Indeed, this has been a most delicious dish to devour --- and I ate it all.

EVERYMAN...U R NOT! More than half of the people in this country think for themselves you, however, prefer to march in lockstep.

I suggest that you do some reading to remedy your constricted mentality. Click on the "Third World Traveler" link on this page for some very informative writing by some of our greatest Americans. Then, just for fun, click on "Halliburton Watch" to peek at the creation of "wage slavery" in a corporate society.

Next, go in to The Dishpan Chronicles' May '05 archives to read the "Warning Signs of Fascism" (May 20, 2005). It is a short version of political scientist Laurence W. Britt's list of the fourteen traits of an emerging fascist regime. Also read " A Remedy For The "Fascistly Uninformed" (May 22, 2005).

If this diet change doesn't help then I can do nothing for you other than to suggest you enlist and go to Iraq. If you have already been..go back. If you are too old sign up with Halliburton, you can drive a suppy truck. Put your money and your life on the line. Bye, Bye.

DR. FORBUSH...The Republican leadership had this war on the books and ready to go before Bush took the presidency. Poor "Everyman" thinks the war is about terrorists.

Neocon Paul Wolfowitz, then the director of PNAC, wrote the following in PNAC's master plan entitled, "Rebuilding America's Defenses: Strategies, Forces, and Resources for a New Century" in Sept. of 2000:"A core mission for the transformed U.S. military is to fight and decisively win multiple, simultaneous major theater wars. The strategic "transformation" of the U.S. military into an imperialistic force of global domination would require a huge increase in defense spending to "a minimun level of 3.5 to 3.8 percent of gross domestic product, adding $15 billion to 20 billion to total defense spending annually. The process of transformation is likely to be a long one, absent some catastrophic and catalyizing event--LIKE A NEW PEARL HARBOR." Astounding, isn't it!

9/11 occurred one year later and our military budget now stands at $4.5 billion and is climbling. Add to the equation a man (Bush) who has failed every time he went into business and it gets kind of scary!

We need to leave wars for imperial global dominance behind and take care of the American people first.

Jolly Roger...I agree. Everyman has missed the point. Patriotism is work. It is a full time job that demands reading, thinking, asking questions, and demanding answers.

Everyman is lazy. He prefers to be told what to think as he finds reading to be too much work and thinks that asking a question of an elected official is treason. It is so much easier to hide behind the flag to squeeze off a shot.

TOM HARPER...There was an anti-war march in Washington D.C. yesterday and over one hundred thousand voices were yelling "IMPEACH BUSH" in unison! We watched it on C-Span. What a great feeling!

LIQUID PLASTIC..."Everyman" does not represent my man, either. Not even a little bit!

I am glad you liked this post. Thanks for your support. I started bloggin in January of this year to do what I could against Bush, his cronies, and this war because I am a mother and a grandmother, and don't think that we should go back to the "bad old days". I am fighting along with other bloggers for a better future for the up and comming generations. WAR is only GOOD for those who PROFIT $$$$$$ from it! And that does not include mothers, children, or families anywhere.

I write from my experience and I experience the "dishpan" every day. Sort of like making lemonade form lemons...some good had to come out of those rats in the cupboard!

P.S. Today, I get a break, my ukulele playing husband just did the dishes for me....YIPEEEE!

OKLIBERAL...I wrote a whole response to your comment and it disappeared when I pushed publish. I don't know where it went!!!! I hate it when stuff like this happens. I'm sorry.

Anyway, I agree with you about term limits but I can't think to rewrite all of it. Maybe it will show up again as mysteriously as it disappeared.

Would you tree-hugging liberals prefer that these people remain living under oppression?

Lord, I love it when you talk dirty to me. What precisely does "tree hugging" have to do with the imaginary liberation of Iraq?

The cute thing about Bushists is the way they parrot the pundits. "tree-hugging" "liberal elite"

The neato thing about not being part of Club BushCo is that I don't have to follow anyone. I can use the lumpy gray stuff in my head for something other than stuffing.

And sorry, Sweety. I am a tree-hugger; I think Bush is a postule on American politics; but I'm neither a liberal nor a Democrat.

What's that? The sound of your head exploding?

PAT KIRBY...I am sure his head DID explode. Ya know..."Tree Hugging" is a silly term. I love trees and used to sit in them but now with a bad knee and some years on me, I just commune from under the trees. Maybe, Everyman should try to talk with the trees and the birds. They're good listeners and have a lot to say.
