Tiny Bubbles............

Tiny Bubbles are thought blips, post-it-notes, and smaller written pieces titled so with a loving nod toward my main fan, "Chronicles" contributor, and main man, my ukelele playing husband, Catfish.

A LONG TIME BACK.........

"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of it scientists, the hopes of its children. This is not a way of life at all in any true sense. Under the clouds of war, it is humanity hanging on a cross of iron."

- 34th President, Dwight D. Eisenhower..........
A man who had experienced war
- A Republican who actually earned and deserved respect.

JUNE OF 2004..........

"It appears that the money has been moved in the president's budget to handle homeland security and the war in Iraq, and I suppose that's the price we pay. Nobody locally is happy that the levees can't be finished, and we are doing everything we can to make the case that this is a security issue for us."

- Walter Maestri - Emergency Management Chief of Louisiana's Jefferson Parish

LAST WEEK TUESDAY, AUGUST 30th, CORONADO, CALIFORNIA.........

While thousands lay dead and dying and Hurricane Katrina's survivors were suffering from lack of food, water, and medical attention, President Bush was commerating the 6oth anniversary of the end of WWII......

"As we mark this anniversary, we are again a nation at war. Once again war came to our shores with a suprise attack that killed thousands in cold blood", he said evoking a comparison between WWII, 9/11, and America's pre-emptive attack on Iraq.

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 31st., NEW ORLEANS.....

From his window on Air Force One during a low fly-over of the destroyed city, President Bush uttered the "DUH" understatement of the year,

"It's devastating. It's got to be doubly devastating on the ground."

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 1..........

During a televised interview with Diane Sayyew on ABC'S Good Morning America, our clueless president said,

"I don't think anybody anticipated the breaching of the levees."

I WANT EISENHOWER BACK!

More "Tiny Bubbles" to follow, stay tuned,
