So We'll Go No More "A - ROVING" !

I wasn't planning to write about George W. Bush's senior advisor and personal puppet master again, for quite a while, but the recent exposure of Karl Rove's treachery in the outing of CIA officer, Valerie Plame, has necessitated a "Dishpan suds and scrub."

When Dorothy doused the evil-doer witch with a bucket of water in the MGM movie classic, "The Wizard of Oz", the wicked creature melted into a puddle of malevolent ooze, and vanished with a poof! Don't we all wish that there was a cleaning product which could be sprayed on dishonest, manipulative, lying politicians causing them to dissolve into greasy smears, easily wiped away (with an extra strength paper towel, of course), and disposed of? Such a product would be useful now. We could just aim and spray Karl "Goebbels" Rove and reduce his Baby Huey-sized frame to an insignificant slimy smudge. One swipe with a super-absorbant paper towel later, and he would be out of our lives, and on his way to the nearest toxic waste dump!

Most Americans abhor dishonesty, value plain, honest, straight-forward truth, and treat each other with respect. Karl Rove is not like most Americans. He is bloated with arrogance and noted not only for dishonesty, but for the type of cold, calculating, cynical, vindictive cruelty that characterized the German High Command.

America, under the Bush Administration, has become a nation scorned by the rest of the world. Once trusted, idealized, and yes, even liked around the globe, the United States is now known for it's violent militarism, moral hypocracy, insatiable greed, and it's imperious dishonesty. There are many in Bush's High Command whom we can thank for sullying America's reputation and dragging our country through the sewer, but none is more deserving of our gratitude than Karl Rove.

Many years ago, back in 1968, Joan Baez set Lord Byron's poem entitled, "So We'll Go No More A Roving" to music, which she then sang, recorded, and released on her album, "Baptism". When Karl's denial of involvement in the "Plame Outing" went poof with the proof last week, the Lord Byron-Baez song started playing in my head. I will end this on a happy note by dedicating the following to Baby Huey look-alike, evil-doer, Karl Rove.

So We'll Go No More A-Roving

So we'll go no more a-roving
So late into the night,
Though the heart was made for loving,
And the moon be still as bright.

For the sword outwears its sheath,
And the soul wears out the breast,
and the heart must pause to breathe,
And love itself have rest.

Though the night was made for loving,
And the day returns too soon,
Yet we'll go no more a-roving,
By the light of the moon.

Lord Byron (1788-1824)

Seems to me the task requires a mighty cleaner, something industrial and toxic that causes cancer in lab rats.

At the very least, several gallons of bleach.

PAT...I agree! Or maybe if we all had noses like Samantha (the good witch) on Bewitched, then we could just twinkle our noses, and POOF! No more creeps like Rove! Ahhhh, wishful thinking.....

When they start using the Patriot Act to lock up good 'ol WASP's indefinately and without charges people will THEN gasp! But by then, it will have been in effect for what, 10 years or so?
Our civil liberties are being striped away & Americans just sigh & think its best. I say BULLSHIT!

JANE...It seems that the events of the last several weeks have caused the American public to awaken from it's long political slumber. I think that it is important to keep exposing this administration and it's skewed "values" every chance we get!

Great post. Rove has to go, that's for sure. That would be nice if we could just squirt with something that would make him disappear. Or he could get a long sentence at Gitmo or Abu Ghraib. All of a sudden the wingnuts would be concerned about the prison conditions there.

Der Rovesmarschall isn't going anywhere, as evidenced by the latest El Shrubbo flip flop. Now, it seems you have to have done something illegal to get ousted from the El Shrubbo staff.

I know, what a surprise.....

The truth is, Der Rovesmarschall has been the handler of El Shrubbo for 30 years. We can only guess as to what he knows about his monkey-you better believe his monkey will go all-out to protect him, up to and including a pardon, if that is what it takes.

OKDEMOCRAT...My husband was saying just last night that Bush is so dependent on Rove that he would not be able to function at all if he were forced to FIRE ROVE! What a classic example of a co-dependent relationship! I missed what Sam Donaldson did (please enlighten me) but I have always liked him for not being afraid to speak out.

TOM HARPER...I can picture dear Karl in Abu Graib's most famous fashion attire; the draped, dark cloak quietly enhanced by a fringed hemline, topped with a matching pointed hood, and accented with "hotwires" to various appendages for that complete "Shock and Awe" look. What an evildoer statement trendsetter Rove would make in America's finest overseas hotel!

JOLLYROGER...What Bush meant by illegal is that dishonesty, cheating, treachery, and all manner of disgusting manipulations are now acceptable American behaviors and that Karl did nothing wrong by practicing the new Republican values. Yep, as long as you don't get caught...opps...if you do get caught...you keep your job because there is no law against such behavior...it is not "illegal". I shudder to think of a pardon.
