The Bird Flu Over The Cuckoo's Nest

The Bush Administration has been right on target since it inaugurated itself into being on that fateful January day back in the year 2000, and I must say, it has been successful.

Nearly every government agency charged with the protection and care of the American people has been systematically gutted from the inside out. The concerns of the people of this nation have been overridden by an infantile regime whose demand for loyality and desire for empire have proven to be a direct danger not only to American Democracy, but to the very lives of its citizens.

Prior to the illegal and unnecessary quagmire in Iraq, the State Department was raided and all personnel who were experts on the Middle East or were fluent in Arabic were replaced with Bush team members whose qualifications for the job were limited to flag waving. The FBI and the CIA were subject to similar restaffing procedures. The goal of this administration was to eliminate all qualified, expert personnel from America's agencies and replace them with corporate leaning cronies, yes-persons, and the occasional (wink, wink... nod, nod) godly goodnik to placate the Christian right.

The list of compromised agencies is long and includes: the Department of Homeland Security, FEMA, the Environmental Protection Agency, the Pentagon, the Office of Fair Housing and Opportunity, and the Department of Health and Human Services.

Replacing agency experts with unqualified, inexperienced Bush loyalists enabled this administration to easily divert funds from each of these departments. Members of the Crony Corps were guaranteed not to object as necessary moneys were moved to cover Bush's tax cuts and shore up the Iraq War. And not one squawk was heard when the dismantling of internal structures and subsequent loss of political power occurred within these vital agencies.

Well, now the chickens have come home to roost as Americans along with the rest of the world's peoples are faced with the probability of the Avian Flu morphing into a pandemic. Unfortunately for "We The People", the Department of Health and Human Services was razed some time ago by the gutless wonder in the White House.

Remember the Alamo?....remember, "Brownie, you're doing a heck of a job?" Just let the fear wash over you like another catagory five hurricane. Stewart Simonson, a crony of a crony of a crony trailing back to George W. Bush, is the current Secretary for Public Health Emergency Preparedness at the DHHS. He is a LAWYER!

Simonson has no medical degree, has absolutely no background in epidemiology or the development of vaccines, and no experience in the field of public health. Up until being named as point man "on matters related to bioterrorism and other public health emergencies", Stewie was a corporate secretary and counsel for AMTRAK! Wouldn't the appointment of someone from the Center for Disease Control have been a more prudent and appropriate move?

Bush has reacted to the threat of a pandemic like any budding fascist. He sees the danger of the Bird Flu afflicting millions of Americans as an opportunity to insert his army. I get the picture....Stewie will make sure that the trains run on time and load the cars with troops intent on Nurse Ratcheding the victims into submission. If a handful of citizens die here and there, so what?......Iraq has a Constitution and Bush and his oil-boy gang have the oil!

Once again, incompetence reigns supreme but I continue to dream. The next time George W. lifts his lying face skyward, I pray that a migratory cuckoo or a high-flying chicken vents right on target, into one of his squinty, short-sighted eyes.

We really Do need to IMPEACH the Clueless, Irresponsible Creep
.................And his Compassionless Veep!

Given the coming trouble for Crooked Lip, impeachment isn't quite the pipe dream it was just a few days ago.

What I think is hilarious and alarming about the Bush Administration is that many of the failures of government have been part of President Bush's attempts to centralize the Fed. He seems intent on having all partso f the Federal government answer directly to him. Why else would FEMA be made into a minor department of the Department of Homeland Security? Two totally different types of response teams for two totally different problems and they needed to be combined? Combinations like this have done nothing but complicate government and make getting help to those who need it a harder task. It was all supposed to be part of making America safer but it has failed. In many ways, we are more mismanaged than before 9/11. Not only that, Bush is moer of a dictator now than any President ever. Are we really better off now than before Bush stole the WH?

Perhaps we can use this trial of Saddam as a kind of test run for the criminal trial of Bush. And if we can execute Saddam for war crimes, perhaps we can execute Bush for them, too. I mean, we wouldn't hold double standards for foreigners when it comes to international law, would we? Oh, heavens no!

You don't post often, but when you do you kick ass where it needed and bring a lot of commonsense to the playing field. I come back here not only for your post, but also for the comments, and the comments on the comments.

However, I can't add anything to this post that haven't already been said, when you are right you are right.

Now I am really scared, but not of other countries, I am scared of the American government!

He's stewing in it alright but what worries me is the harm that this administration causes on a daily basis. Three more years of this is a long time! Yeah, maybe it isn't so much of a pipe dream any more.

All branches of the German government under Hitler reported directly to the "Fuhrer", too. Absolute control has its hand in every pie.

The job of government agencies under George W. is not to function for the good of the people but to repeat endlessly the talking points that define Bush's crony-styled neoconservatism. It is destroying our country. "Four legs good. Two legs bad....."

I read recently that positive moral among staff and employees at Homeland Security is almost nonexistant at 2%. Original thoughts, solutions to problems, working as a team, brainstorming and innovation are actively discouraged. What a way to run a counrtry!....Into the ground, that is

We should employ the methods of interrogation that Bush Admin. has approved for the War on Terror on himself and all of the gang of war criminals in Washington D.C. Then we'd really get the TRUTH out of that band of neoconservative liars, heh heh heh...What's good for the goose and all of that......heh, heh.

Did you happen to see Frontline Tuesday night? It was about the torture practices of the American troops. It was sickening. We have descended so low we'd drown in a snail track.

I write slow. I always have lots of ideas and then I research and write and rewrite. It doesn't just flow out of me like it does out of you - you are so lucky. I wish it did! Sometimes though, I dream some of what I write. I type slow, too, and the arthritis doesn't help either, tee hee...but I get something posted eventually.

We have the one computer and five adults in our house so we take turns. Then there are all of the other things I do each day which I know that you do, too.....like feeding people(dinner), and hunting and gathering groceries and the floors and windows and......

I don't waste my time, though because while I am cleaning I am thinking. Chores are repetitive, boring, and offer little if no gratification. So I read a page or two and then go do some of the nasty chores while I think about what I've read. Then I go back and read some more, then again the chores, and so on. Survival!

Today, I am washing the wall and the floor in the bathroom where we are putting in a cabinet for the towels...(this house didn't come with one) and I'm cooking chicken and making homemade tomatillo salsa.

I am definitely fearful of this government. They don't give a shit and are completely irresponsible which brings me full circle...that's why I started writing a blog..to work against the Bush administration, to expose them, and stop them. I love my family and friends too much to stand by and let this administration rape and pillage this country.

Boy, I'm really steaming today! See what happens when I scrub?...I warm up and get going!....Besides, I am still mad about what was on Frontline Tuesday night. Oh, Oh the blood pressure! I think I will go attack that wall again......

Great post. You've really got it dialed. That's exactly what Bush has done -- gutted every agency and filled them all with incompetent cronies. But maybe there's light at the end of the tunnel. If Cheney gets frogmarched out of there, that'll be step one.

Great post.

What troubles me even more, however, is the astonishing number of people who, for whatever reason, don't seem to know or care about all the crap this Administration is shoveling.

They shake their heads and make excuses in the manner of an abused spouse.

BushCo isn't going to actually do any comprehensive planning for the bird flu, but they'll make interested noises about it. Misdirection. Kind of like:

"Iraq war? Huh?" [Admin official points in another direction.] "Look. It's the bird flu!"

haha... I just love all that's going down right now... don't you? (yea, I already know ya do... lol...) Yep... hope that chicken/cuckoo gets him (actually, I think that it's hitting him, and his whole administration quite heavily right now!) Ah... we'll be rid of those rats yet... I have a feeling! Some good is gonna come out of this nightmare! It's got to! Great post, mum!

It worries me too, that many people don't get what is going on and continually make excuses for the behavior of this administration. The "people" mean nothing to the madmen who have taken over our country. They exist only for themselves in a fantasy world. The American people need to wake up to see these extremists for what they are before it's too late!.....A little bird flu in and told me this to me....tee hee

Glad you liked this post my darling, daughter dear. I also hope that something good comes out of all of this mess and as you know I have been working hard to help bring this administration down. Things are beginning to look bad for the "Bushies"...yippeeee!
Score some points for "We The People"!
Bring 'em on.....we'll pluck that chicken yet!!!!

Thanks for bookmarking the "Chronicles". I work hard at the writing this blog because I am driven to help bring the Bush Administration down. Their intent is to destroy democracy in this country and replace it with a sort of a corporate-militaristic-theocractic based society with total power concentrated in an unquestioned ruling elite or...yep..actually, a sort of modern fascism, American-style! Mussolini lives on, "Everything in the state. Nothing outside the state. Nothing against the state."

I know about hectic scheduals! Hope to see you around...We need everyone to speak up and speak out...Peace!
