You and What Army?

When George W. Bush lied and said that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction and was planning to attack the United States on American soil, he stood in front of an army. When he said "we're coming to get you Saddam", he stood in front of an army.

George "the decider" stood in front of an army when he told us that we citizens didn't need the rights guaranteed by the Constitution. He stood in front of an army, that didn't know what habeas corpus meant or understand the the value of the Geneva Conventions, to declare TORTURE a tool of freedom and habeas corpus unnecessary. George "the joker" Bush and his Attorney General, Alberto Gonzales didn't care about the army at all when they laughed the Geneva Conventions off as quaint.

Wrapped in a flag while bearing the cross of the theocons, George W. Bush stood in front of an army while he stomped on Separation of Church and State and commandeered tax payer dollars for faith based initiatives like the privatized Christian Army known as Blackwater. Blackwater's mercenary thugs answer to no American or international law and earn more in one month than American soldiers earn in a year. Blackwater killers made many enemies for American soldiers in Iraq.

George W. Bush seems inadequate without a blackdrop of uniformed personnel so he stands in front of the armed forces again and again. George likes to use military wallpaper when he says words like resolve, persevere, our will, stay the course, steadfast, strong, freedom, cut and run, and surge. We are sick of seeing the president appear on CNN and MSNBC standing in front of captive troops. We are tired of and embarrassed by his empty words. He is the boy who cried wolf about Iraq but he is not sorry.

George W. Bush lied so he could do this...

And this....

And this...

George W. Bush never stands in front of these troops. George W. Bush has to date, shown no remorse.

President George W. Bush stands in front of an army while he turns his back on soldiers who suffered TBI (traumatic Brain injury) in Iraq. Similarily, he has turned his back on soldiers who are suffering the ravages of PTSD. This week GWB threatened American people who disagree with his failed neoconservative policies. We were told that the troops who form the army he stands in front of will have to stay in Iraq longer if we refuse to support his stay the course surge.

George W. Bush has (as was expected) turned the "surge" into a full-scale escalation. Thousands more of our armed forces have been ordered to return to Iraq.

Claims were made that the Speaker of The House, Pelosi, undermined George W. Bush's foreign policy and usurped his authority when she visited and engaged in a diplomatic dialogue with the leader of one of Bush's next military targets, Syria.

Bravo Nancy Pelosi, Thank you. American patriots must do whatever they can to undermine this dangerous out-of-control president. I do my patriotic best every day to undermine King George and his neocon government.

Americans and American troops should stand down so that G
eorge W. Bush, the war president, has to stand alone.

You and What Army, George?

"You know, when I campaigned in 2000, I said, I want to be a war president. No one wants to be a war president, but I am one."

Yeah, George, you're a war president all right...

As I have come to expect, another excellent post, Sister. I particularly like your twist on neo-con to theo-con. Plan on using that one myself.

Boy am I glad you're on our side, LOL!

Your post is very well done. I fear, however that there is plenty of blame to go around besides Mr. Bush.

I have been inside the mechanism on which he relies and it has not served him well. Unfortunately he has not had the experience or the staff with the guts to fix it.

Underlying it all of course is the Military Industrial Complex which keeps relentlessly churning.

Your words and pictures are very descriptive and well done but I fear they create the expectation that things will change when this president leaves. They will not.

I take a rather pragmatic view, which I believe is appropriate for our country these days considering how massive our government has grown and how many wrong turns major agencies such as the Pentagon have taken.

The American recipe is now overpowered by salt (Military Industrial Complex Influence) and the public is puking.

Let’s not just get a new chef, let’s overhaul the restaurant, change the menu, lower the prices and grow green and lean.

Here’s a typical example of too much salt:

Very good post. I am relieved to see a sane view out there.

I wonder what will happen if there is an Army uprising against Bush. What can he do? I dont want him to end his Presidency on a high note and be remembered as a hero.

No I want his lies to be exposed and I want him to be impeached.

"Theocon" has been around for a while. It is a loaded but fitting term. The most recent definition I've run across is "a marriage of the historical authority of the Catholic Church with the grassroots appeal of the modern conservative U.S. Evangelical movement, bolstered by the cooperation of largely secular and Jewish neoconservatives." This definition is quoted from "Blackwater - The Rise of The World's Most Powerful Mercenary Army" by Jeremy Scahill. I am currently reading this book - it is chilling.

George misusing the military as a photo op background has bothered me for a long time and inspired this post.

I see George as a mere the hood ornament on the corporate/neoconservative power driven, attack vehicle that is aimed at our democratic form of government. He presides atop a mountain formed entirely of human excrement. May he and the others sink deeply within the bowels of Mother Earth.

I did focus on George but did not mean to create the impression that all will be well with his ouster. He is just the beginning (and symbolic) of all of the clean up that will have to be done.

I agree entirely that the entire restaurant needs an overhaul! The priorities of this administration are skewed. I would, for one thing, like to see the tax system changed to where each one of us could declare how we want our tax dollars spent.

The people in this country need control over the government. Our representatives are not representing us - case in point... my representative, Duncan Hunter (the contractors pal) doesn't at all represent myself or my family.

I have the Vanity Fair article you mentioned but got side tracked before I read it by the "Blackwater" issue. I am reading the book on Blackwater now and will do a post on it soon as Blackwater is trying to open an additional training facility not far from here. Blackwater shouldn't even exist, needs to be investigated, and disbanded

Can you shed any light on this private Theocon Republican army? The book by Jeremy Scahill is available at Amazon. Boy, talk about salt....

You know the old saying... What if they gave a war and nobody came?

I would like to see both Bush and Cheney impeached before they do more harm. I would also like to see them and others in this administration tried at the Hague for war crimes.

Those who start wars are never heros.

Well, you don't run a competition with your brother to see who executes more people and then try to be a peace President.

Now, I don't hope for a military uprising like someone above here, but a mass defection could be nice. And by the way, I wouldn't be surprised to find out this is happening right now but is hidden from the public.

Shrub is a real piece of work. We had a quiet weekend. I spent most of my time reading "Blackwater" as I am going to do a post on them. It's a hard book to read because it is a violent, dirty organization.

People in the Sun...
The number of soldiers going AWOL from the armed forces are up. Many of them have had it with the lies, extended combat tours, and lousy medical treatment for PTSD and TBI.

I am in favor of drafting all of the men and women who created this war.. no age or medical deferments. Cheney, Bush, Condi, Wolfowitz, Feith, Perle, and many more should be sent to Iraq to "stay the course" that they designed.

George W. Bush seems inadequate

Like, DUH! On every level. It's becoming more obvious with each passing day, to even the most casual of observers.

Great post!

Did you catch the chicken pluckin' factory remarks he made recently? ...Geez! Ya know, I think that he has missing his calling. George shoulda been a chicken plucker instead of a war president.

My dearest woman,
Please listen to Michael Franti's "Yell Fire". I'm not a promoter of music but I know it will speak to
your heart. I love what you think and write. and feel a kinred spirit. Please, also go to page 137 of K. Vonnegut's "Man without a Country", and read his requiem. Let's hope we can bring humans into the light and stop war, and the raping of our mother earth.
