A Dishpan Chronicles "Election Tiny Bubbles"

I haven't done a "Tiny Bubbles" for quite a while. "Tiny Bubbles" are the thought blips that float through my mind on their way to my "Chronicles dishpan". "Tiny Bubbles" are so named as a nod toward my ukelele playing husband whose website, Catfish's Closet, is one of the most famous "jumping flea" websites in the world.

Boy, my dishpan runneth over, today!

CONGRATULATIONS!

- to all of the courageous Americans who used their votes to defend democracy against the rising wave of conservative fascists and an illegal, imperialistic war that has benefited none but the usual gang of profiteers!

The Early Warning Signs of FASCISM:

1) Powerful and Continuing Nationalism, 2) Disdain For Human Rights, 3) Identification of Enemies as a Unifying Cause, 4) Supremacy of the Military, 5) Rampant Sexism, 6) Controlled Mass Media, 7) Obsession with National Security, 8) Religion and Government Intertwined, 9) Corporate Power Protected, 10) Labor Power Suppressed, 11) Disdain for Intellectuals and the Arts, 12) Obsession with Crime and Punishment, 13) Rampant Cronyism and Corruption, 14) Fraudulent Elections.
(Thanks to "Tools For Change")

- Months ago I blogged this list and asked readers to find examples in Bush's Neoconservative America. Just for fun, here's some Fascist Flashbacks...

Voter intimidation and thousands of votes thrown away in Jeb Bush's Florida in 2000... the "noble lie" about Iraq's weapons of mass destruction... the patriotism of "good" Americans questioned because they did not support a "bad war"... Shock and Awe... Torture at Gitmo and Abu Ghraib... Titan and CACI... Tom Delay and K Street... Fox News... Non-Christian tax dollars being funneled to RELIGIOUS charities... Randy "Duke " Cunningham... religious fanatics favored with White House conference calls on Mondays... the betrayal of Valerie Plame... Halliburton.. KBR... Halliburton... KBR... Dick Cheney's secret meetings... eavesdropping on Americans... chants of USA, USA! while Americans killed innocent people... the firing of all experts on the Middle East and on and on........ Feel free to add your own Fascist Flashbacks in the Dishpan comments section!

OUR HOUSE!

- The Democrats have gained control of both the House and the Senate. I am sure that many others feel like I do; happy and relieved, but vigilant just the same. I have been, over the course of the last seven years, appalled and sickened by the depravity, arrogance, and ruthless indifference that seem to be an inherent part of the Republican character. We therefore, must remain watchful and at the ready, while we repair the damage that has been inflicted on American Democracy by the NeoConservative Movement and it's haughty hand puppet, President George W. Bush.

HONOR OUR VETERAN'S - INVESTIGATE HALLIBURTON & KBR!

- Cheney and Rumsfeld's plan to privatize support services for the military has proven to be nothing more than legitimized larceny. Halliburton, KBR, and dozens of other "contractor extortionists" have bilked hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars. Awarded no-bid, open-ended, cost-plus contracts by neoconservatives, Vice President Cheney and Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld, these corporations continue to loot much needed funds from our troops in country and from our wounded and emotionally scarred veterans here at home. Veterans should not have to fight a war here in the states to secure medical care, mental health care, and the financial compensation they deserve and need in order to survive as civilians.

These corporate criminals need to be held accountable for their crimes against members of the American military and the American people. It is up to us to DEMAND FULL INVESTIGATION of the privatization scam and the corporations involved and to DEMAND the RETRIEVAL of the STOLEN MONEY. American Veterans need that money!

Since the "Fog of War" smokescreen excuse is BULLSHIT, here is what you can do to serve your country:

1) - Watch the DVD "Iraq For Sale"- a must see! Information and DVD available here.

2) - Read "Shafting the Vets" by Colin Hallinan here.

3) - Don't Make Nice with the Bush administration. They have lied, murdered, and plundered. None of us would skate if we had committed similar crimes and neither should they. Write or call your representatives in the House and the Senate. Demand Investigations. Render appropriate punishments. Demand that the Congress Recover the Stolen Money. Publically Censure George W. Bush and Dick Cheney.

THE RATS ARE ABANDONING THE SINKING SHIP!

"If we just let our vision of the world go forth, and we embrace it entirely, and we don't try to piece together clever diplomacy but just wage a total war, our children will sing great songs about us years from now. - Richard Perle huh ???

Richard Perle, irate over the timing of an article in "VanityFair" (Neo Culpa-here) was singing a different tune on the television news last week. Perle, a member of PNAC and an architect of the Iraq war was putting the blame for the illegal war of aggression solely on Bush's shoulders. Mr. Perle, I'm not delphic either but even I, a lowly housewife, could clearly see that the war you planned and advocated for years would render Iraq an anarchic "failed state".

You and your fellow members of the imperialistic think tank "Project for a New American Century", are directly responsible for the death and destruction in Iraq. PNAC's premise for American Global Domination was born of arrogant moral superiority and nourished on racism and greed. The plan for the forced democratization of Iraq has failed miserably because it was rooted in delusions of sheer madness worthy of Hitler and his High Command. It seems that the twisted ideas of Leo Strauss, the refugee Jewish German philosopher who founded American neoconservatism, have been dealt a severe but very necessary blow. (Strauss here)

We must remain viligant and "Never Turn Our Backs" on the following members of PNAC who "noble lied" us into this war even as they are scrambling to cover their collective asses:

Richard Perle, William Kristol, Robert Kagan, Dick Cheney, I. "Scooter" Libby, Donald Rumsfeld, Paul Wolfowitz, Jeb Bush, Kenneth Adelman, William J. Bennet, Newt Gingrich, Frank Gaffney, John Bolton, David Frum, Irving Kristol, Douglas Feith, Elliot Abrams, Norman Podhoretz, Zalmay Khalilzad, Gary Bauer, Jeane Kirkpatrick, Dan Quayle and many more.

Remember back when we were being lied to about the weapons of mass destruction? Remember when we were about to invade Iraq? Remember when the "rush-to-war" neoconservatives listed above dominated the media where they were presented to the American public as "experts"?

It has indeed been one heckuva week! I too want to see investigations. Our troops have managed with defective body armor, bad food and water, equipment that falls apart if you look at it. And I have to say I do not understand Americans who look on Halliburton and the rest of the war profiteers with favor; equating support for them with support for the war itself. If you support our military - then you should support them practically instead of euphemistically – and you should support their dependants. Families with no roofs over their heads, bad medical attention, returning vets with life-long disabilities that will need care. It should be provided to them and at no coat. I lived on a Navy base in Japan for 4 years. My husband was in the Navy for 10. I used to work for the DOD. I understand all this. So I second your call for investigations. In fact - take the slimy bastards birthdays away. If you short-changed our troops in a time of war you are a traitor. Period.

I agree that they are traitors. I have thought this about war profiteers since the Vietnam War. War has become big business in the United States and generations of our young are it's victims.

The Bush Administration doesn't give a damn about our soldiers once they are injured. Veterans are having to fight for every penny and funds and/or services keep getting cut. The conservative war ecomony devours men and women when they are strong and healthy and then dumps them. Personnel are, as we were told years ago when I was in the Army, EXPENDABLE.

Well, I never thought to see this sort of behavior on a blog that purports to honor truth and fairness. My posts have been censored (deleted) by Kitchen Window Woman!! Evidently, if she doesn't agree with something that is said, she finds it easier to delete it rather than examine her logic and open a dialog.

Good luck with your blog... for you have become that which you demonize the most.

Paladin...
You are no longer invited to post here. You, like so many conservatives, like to snipe from a hidden position. You comment only to argue with myself and my compatriots.
Nearly everyone else who posts here lists their blog so that visiting and commenting can be mutual. You do not afford us the same courtesy
Perhaps you do not write a blog but I suspect that you do. If you don't - you need to establish one of your own and work as hard at it as the rest of us do. You certainly seem to have alot to say - so post it on your own page.
I am at the age and liberal enough that I no longer put up with people I dislike or social demands I find to be negative, wrong-headed, or draining.
My purpose in writing this blog is to link up with others who are working to turn this country away from the destructive path it is on. Your goal is the opposite.
My other reason for writing is to let my neighbors around the globe know that half of America does not support Bush, neoconservatism, empire, and neverending war.
I consider this blog as I do my home. I work just as hard and my heart is in it. I would invite most of the folks who post on my blog to dine at my table for good food, wine, music, and discussion.
Your habit of piggybacking on my blog will no longer be tolerated therefore,I have chosen (I support CHOICE)to exclude you from this circle.
If you feel that your views are being supressed by being excluded from The Dishpan Chronicles let me help to ease your distress...Anyone who wants to know what you think can freely choose to turn on FOX news.
Go find a new place to play. KWW

Fair enough. You have made your wishes known and I will respect that... consider this my final post. Oh, and for the record... I don't run a blog.

I guess I want it plainly and publicly clear that YOU are the one brooking no discussion or dissention with your points of view. I mean, after all, the way a blog works is to garner comments on the opinion you have expressed. But you seem to only want those that agree with your own.

You state that your goal is to turn the country from the destructive path it is on, while accusing me of the opposite... to which I respond: likewise.

The only difference between us is that I am willing to discuss these points... whereas you only want an audience.

Good luck and Happy Holidays.

I don't buy that "I don't have a blog" nonsense. In all my years of blogging, I've come into contact with ONE commenter who didn't actually have a blog. She commented on mine because she was an old friend.

Paladin, there's a difference between an honest debater and a troll. From all I've seen of your comments, you are clearly the latter.

And why would she owe it to you ON HER SITE to publish what you say? Why would she be somehow obligated to turn HER SITE into a right-wing retard rambling page? Your logic is flawed, Paladin.

Hooray for KWW for speaking up to Paladin. It was long over-due. Brad aptly named him, "troll". If indeed he does not have a blog then he should by all means start one.
Blogging is a LOT OF WORK. It seems a lazy way to get ones ideas across to piggy-back on someone elses hard work.
Good riddance to bad rubbish, as the saying goes........
