There's Still a Bunch of MOTHERS in D.C. !

Last year I wrote and posted the following little ditty on Mother's Day. Since I was born on Mother's Day, I had taken the liberty to alter the words to the old-fashioned parlor tune MOTHER. Not much has changed since last year so I have re-posted it. Click here and scroll down to Listen to this lasting classic song and click again, then sing along using the words below:

M - is for the Murders they've committed
O - is for this Oil-induced war
T - is for the Torture they've permitted
H - is for the Halliburton whores
E - is for the Exxon Mobile profits
R - is for Republican deceit

Put them all together and they spell MOTHER
It's time to send them packing in defeat

Mother's Day was originally set aside in 1892 as a day for women who have borne children to unite against those who glorify war, wage war, profit from war, and then call on others to sacrifice themselves on the altars of man-made wars. Flowers, sweets, and shiny things are nice sometimes, but Mother's Day is the wrong occasion to gift those of us who bear and nurture children with saccharine platitudes like Happy Mother's Day while our sons and daughters are in danger the world over from the Masters of War.

The following video includes graphic images of children injured and killed in this most recent American war. Some already know but most Americans need to see this truth.

The following lines, excerpted from "The Mother's Day Proclamation" by Julia Ward Howe, set the tone for responsible mothers around the globe to stop wars by promoting non-violent conflict resolution.

"Our husbands will not come to us reeking with carnage,
For caresses and applause,
Our sons shall not be taken from us to unlearn
All that we have been able to teach them of charity, mercy, and patience.
We, the women of one country
Will be too tender of those of another country
To allow our sons to be trained to injure theirs."

Younger mothers and Republican grandmothers need to really think about the words above because some ugly fashion trends have surfaced in Bush-War America. Don't, please don't, ever dress your child in "cammies"! It is not cute to see a baby or child costumed in killing clothes. And, it's definitely not cool. Children need vibrant, joyful colors, for children celebrate life.

Be a responsible mother...
Stand up against the American war machine for the sake of your children and grandchildren, and children everywhere.

Be a responsible mother....
Teach Peace - Wage Peace.

Be a loving mother....

Moderate...
Thanks Bro. I wrote this and other Mother's Day pieces because I think that it is very important that women wake up and look at the reality of war. It isn't cheerful.

Many Americans don't know at all about the birth defects (in video) that are occurring in Iraq as a result of the depleted uranium that the USA has introduced to that country. We will, in the next few years, be seeing similar births here as returning soldiers began to have children. It's as damaging and deadly as Agent Orange. It won't be Iraqi insurgents that follow us home - it will be birth defects and cancer.

We have got to put a stop to this mess for so many reasons!
